Early December brought an opportunity to Pay it Foolward and volunteer to help local and national nonprofits. More than 130 Fools signed up to help national organizations such as Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity, as well as many other local nonprofits, earlier this month at The Fool’s first Half-Day of Service. As we are in service of others, we were flexible as to the timing of the engagements around the country. The majority fell on December 9, and others are scheduled early in 2023.
Spanning 13 different locations and 11 cities across the U.S. and Australia as well as 4 virtual opportunities, Fools showed up to do a wide range of Foolishly good acts such as teaching students about financial literacy, serving hot meals, packaging clothing, and organizing, pricing, and stocking inventory. In addition, The Motley Fool Foundation provided a financial contribution to the organizations we helped.
During this season, when so many people find themselves in a difficult financial position, taking some time to help others is critical and so very much appreciated.
The Motley Fool Foundation, working together with The Motley Experience Team, set a goal for the Half-Day of Service, hoping that 10% of our entire community would participate. We sent out a sign-up sheet, and within one day, we surpassed our goal. So we set a higher goal, and a few days later, we broke it! So we set a stretch goal, and the Fools crushed it!
A special shout-out and thank you to our local leaders for making all of our Fools for Good dreams a reality! THANK YOU!

And to all the Fools who worked (and are continuing to work) behind the scenes to coordinate all of the moving parts for this global initiative, THANK YOU!
