Is my crypto donation tax deductible?
If you pay taxes in the U.S.A., the IRS classifies cryptocurrency as property for tax purposes. Many crypto donors may be eligible for a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and this donation could enable them to avoid the capital gains tax they would have incurred if they had sold the crypto and then made a donation. This may also mean they are able to donate more and deduct more on their tax return.
